About
The Full Story
Hey everyone I'm Sam, a recent university graduate where i studied journalism and public relations for three years. During my time at university I learned many different skills, with one of them being blogging. Since I suddenly have a lot more free time on my hands I thought I'd start my own blog about my favourite hobby, gaming.
I've always had a passion for gaming since a very young age. I grew up playing on my Nintendo Gamecube and a Gameboy Micro. There was just something so appealing to me about games and how different they can be to each other and my fondest games from those consoles were Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog, two icons of gaming that I still adore today.
I was very content with my Gamecube, and eventually received a Nintendo Wii and a DSi. I had a Playstation 2 at my grandparents house so I wasn't short of things to play. Eventually however, I was about to enter high school and suddenly the Xbox 360 caught my eye, which slowly pushed all my Nintendo games to the side. That's not to say I didn't play them after that, but the majority of the time I was playing on my Xbox.
It was at this point in time that I discovered the Halo series, which is still my favourite gaming franchise of all time, and something I played as much as I could. This love for Halo then led to upgrading to an Xbox One (mainly because the new Halo games were going to be on it) which I stuck with for a good few years.
After finishing high school, I moved onto sixth form, and with this change my interest in gaming changed as well. I found a variety of Youtube content creators who talked about gaming, but specifically old school retro games that I'd never really heard of before.
I bought myself a Nintendo 64 and some games for it and all of a sudden I was starting a collection. I'm now 14 consoles strong and have a pretty decent sized library of old games, some I own physically and others digitally.
It's for this reason that I thought it'd be fun to document myself playing through them and talk about the history of the games I play and how well they hold up today. So with that I'd like to thank you for reading and hope you enjoy and find something interesting.
